INCONTILASE
Did you know that 1 in 4 women deal with involuntary leakage from stress or urge incontinence? By the age of 50, that number increases to 1 in 2.

Stress urinary incontinence is when a patient can’t fully control their bladder during times of physical stress.

This includes:
-
active household chores
-
carrying any sort of weight
-
strenuous physical activities
-
laughing or sneezing
-
jumping
Stress urinary incontinence can be caused by the stretching and weakening of the ligaments, nerves, and pelvic floor muscles that normally work together to support the bladder and keep the urethra closed. These changes can occur in patients due to factors such as:

-
Age - As we age, our supporting tissues begin to weaken causing laxity and increased pressure on the bladder and urethra.
-
Childbirth - Women who have had delivered vaginally or had a forceps delivery may experience weakened or damaged nerves and tissues in the pelvic area.
-
Body weight - Individuals with a higher body weight may be at a greater risk for stress incontinence because extra body weight can put pressure on the abdominal and pelvic organs.
-
Previous surgery in the pelvic area - Certain surgeries, such as hysterectomies, can increase patients' risk of stress urinary incontinence.

Incontinence is not talked about enough and most often women suffer in silence while their symptoms greatly impact their quality and enjoyment of life. Until recently, the only option for treatment was surgical options such as a mesh or sling. Now, we have a quick, easy and non-surgical option to bring back your confidence!

IncontiLase is a highly effective non-surgical laser treatment. During the treatment, a special speculum is inserted into the vagina, then the laser attachment is positioned in the speculum. When we're ready to begin, short laser pulses are applied to provide photothermal heating in both the vaginal walls and the urethra. This causes restructuring and regrowth of the collagen. The result is the thickening and tightening of the vaginal walls and urethra to prevent urine loss.

The treatment is quick and very tolerable, with no downtime! You can resume majority of your day to day activies immediately following your treatment.

While results are seen following the first treatment, subsequent treatments or combining with our Emsella may be recommended. Book a complimentary consultation to develop your custom treatment plan to get your confidence back!
